In addition to the sweets that she enjoyed making, she had a fondness for fried chicken and was known for her cheesecake. Pete had a gift for working with her hands. It is said that she could fix nearly anything and was talented in making wood crafts such as signs, plaques, and also furniture. Pete was a member of Prentiss Baptist Church.
