Winter reading program going strong

The Prentiss Headlight—Finley, had her eye on a big prize. She claimed $100 in reward bucks and took home the Rockit Twist Leap Frog game system.
The Prentiss Headlight—Brayden claimed $65 in Reward Bucks and picked out two great prizes.
The Prentiss Headlight—Kyleigh came back with her Reading Record and claimed $15 reward bucks and got a snap bracelet from the prize store.
The Prentiss Headlight—Jeannie William's class from Prentiss Christian School claimed a total of $408 reward bucks.
The Prentiss Headlight—Terry received $10 in reward bucks when he turned in his books for the Winter Reading Program.
The Prentiss Headlight—Naya, Malaysia, Jaiceon and Eva shopping in the Winter Reading Program store. They received $30 in reward bucks for their Reading Records.
The Prentiss Headlight—Savannah brought her brother Zach to the library. Savannah claimed $10 in reward bucks and Zach got $15.
The winter reading program is going strong at the Dr. Frank L. Leggett Public Library in Bassfield and the Prentiss Public Library in Prentiss.
The program has had great participation since it began Jan. 11.
Participants can pick up a Reading Record at the Prentiss or Bassfield Public Library, then
write down the books they have read on their Reading Record and bring it to one of the libraries to receive a prize. Ten picture book titles or 10 chapters equals a free book.
“Cold winter months are a great time for families to read together,” said library branch manager Jackie Miller. “We hope lots of children will take this time to stay in and read books.”
Some of the fun prizes included slime, snap bracelets, gliders, spinners and several big prizes like Contixo Kids Learning Tablet, a Rockit Twisr Rotatable Learning Game System by Leap Frog and a Pankoo Monocular Telescope.
The reading program ends on March 12, but according to branch manager Jackie Miller, there is still time to read books, turn in your reading record, claim reward bucks and get awesome prizes.
The Prentiss Public Library is located at 2229 Pearl Avenue in Prentiss. The Dr. Frank L. Leggett Public Library is located at 226-A Robert E. Blount Drive in Bassfield.
