Board denies Berry Street variance

The Board of Aldermen for the Town of Prentiss met for the first March meeting at Prentiss City Hall on March 1. Aldermen in attendance were Willie Davis, Moochie Speights, Randy Stamps, Patty King and Rudy McNease. First on the agenda was the request for zoning variance for Tasheka Joshua at 1206 Berry Street. Joshua requested a variance to allow her to operate a nail shop in a portable building in the back yard of the residence.
The board voted unanimously to deny the variance.
In other news, the board approved the following without opposition before adjourning.
Approved minutes.
Approved claims in the amount of $25,277.06
Approved employees attending training and conventions.
Approved sell of surplus property.
Approved refunds and adjustments.
