Funeral services for Mr. John Randolph “Randy” Polk were conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2022, at New Chapel United Pentecostal Church in Collins.  Interment followed in New Chapel Cemetery.  Rev. Ken Hickman and Rev. Rodney Bankens officiated.  Mr. Polk, age 67, entered into the eternal rest of his Lord Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at his home in Richland.

John Randolph Polk was born on Nov. 30, 1954, in Prentiss, to Bennie and Louie Dell Knight Polk.  “Randy”, as he was known to family and friends, experienced the New Birth by obeying the gospel several years ago.  From that moment on, his life’s mission was to spread the saving gospel message of Acts 2:38, telling everyone about the Jesus that gave his life for him.  Randy travelled many miles in his van called the “Hillbilly Church on Wheels”, witnessing for the Lord. This rolling icon was a testimony of his changed life and a gospel message for “whosoever will”.  Randy was a retired truck driver and a member of New Chapel United Pentecostal Church.  “Pawpaw Randy” especially loved his grandchildren and will also be missed by his children, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Louie Dell Polk.

Randy’s memory will forever be cherished by his two daughters, Shanna Smith (Toby) of Richland, Brittany Miller (Ray) of Prentiss; two brothers, Ricky Polk of Prentiss, Dale Polk of Prentiss, one sister, Sandi Burnett of Gatlinburg, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren, Christian Smith, Douglas Freeman, Jaci Smith, Kendall Freeman, Gracyn Freeman, Myles Smith, Hayden Miller, Mason Miller, Jaysen Miller and Aiden Smith.

Serving as pallbearers were Nathan Thurman, Christian Smith, Phillip Watkins, Anthony Polk and Andy Polk.

The family received friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday, from 3-4 p.m. at New Chapel United Pentecostal Church.
