Edward H. Horning

Funeral services for Mr. Edward Horning were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2022, at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Whitesand Cemetery. Rev. Ted Bowlin officiated. Mr. Horning, age 82, of Prentiss passed away early Monday morning, May 30, 2022, at Diversicare Healthcare in Quitman.
Edward Henry Horning was born on Nov. 22, 1938, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Clarence Wesley and Zoila Biaestas Horning. Ed worked offshore as a Crane Operator for over 30 years with Exxon Petroleum Corporation. Afterwards, he worked for nearly 20 years for the Double Pond Water Association. Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing and liked to listen to Country Music. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Horning; his brothers, Robert Horning and Johnny Horning and a sister, Carmen Fowler.
His memory will forever be cherished by his wife of 31 years, Betty Stringer Horning of Prentiss; two step-sons, James Edward Anderson and Roger Dale Harrison, both of Prentiss; two step-daughters, Peggy Sue Miles (Frank) of Prentiss and Rebecca Anderson of Prentiss; two brothers, Stanley Horning of Franklinton, Louisiana, Charles Horning of Lexington, KY; two sisters, Mary Hester of Hammond, Louisiana, Lola Sniff of Chattanooga, Tenness and his grandson, James Cameron Miles of Prentiss.
The family received friends Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.
