Jeannell Allen Allday, of Carson, was born on June 13, 1956, in Lakeview, Michigan, to Duane Frederick and Audell Williamson Stapp. Mrs. Allday attended the University of Southern Mississippi and made a career in the grocery business. A woman of many talents, Jeannell stayed busy sewing and quilting. Her family fondly recalls, “If you have ever had her fabulous home cooking, then you were in for a treat.” Her “chocolate sin” was a family favorite along with many other dishes. Another favorite thing of Jeannell’s was her Mountain Dew. Our sweet animal lover was also musically inclined and played the clarinet in school.
Jeannell, also known as “Lulu” for so many years, was the funniest person (hence her nickname) and had the biggest heart. She owned that nickname for many years, but her favorite name of all was “Maw Nell”. Maw Nell loved her grandkids, nieces and nephews who will all miss her very much.
Jeannell was an active church member at Sure Anchor Baptist Church. She loved the church and knew who her Lord and Saviour was. Maw Nell was a strong lady and fought the fight with everything she had. We can find comfort knowing she is healed and whole again.
Jeannell was preceded in death by her parents, Duane Frederick and Audell Stapp; brother, Carroll “Sam” Stapp; sister, Janel Williamson and her first husband, Paul Allen.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her husband of 17 years, James Allen Allday; daughter, Shey Allen Campbell (Chase) of Brandon; son, Shaun Micca Allen of Carson; daughter, Shonda Nicole Atkins (Kenny) of Carson; daughter, Kimberly Michelle Thibodaux (Coy) of Carson; grandchildren, Micca Allen Yates, Zoey Atkins, Austin Atkins, Candace Carroll, Russell Carroll, James Thibodaux, Palmer Campbell, Berkley Campbell and a host of nieces and nephews.
