Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at Pen Oak Baptist Church in Silver Creek, for Mrs. Carrie Lee Green, 89, who died Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.  Rev. Robert Barnes officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Carrie Green was born to the late H. B. Stewart and Mae Ella Butler.  She was a member of Pen Oak Baptist Church and remained a member until her demise.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Green; daughter, Laura Ann Green and  brother, Lafayette Butler.

She is survived by five sons, Nelson (Irene) Cole of Silver Creek; Johnnie Cole of Jackson; Willie Cole of Ocean Springs; Kenneth L. (Carolyn) Green of Prentiss; and James (Sabrina) Green; four daughters, Thelma Cole and Christine Hill both of Prentiss; Dwan (Louis) Bridges and Arneather (Willie G.) Garner both of Silver Creek; brother, Henry Simmons of Detroit, Michigan; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; 42 grandchildren; 84 great grandchildren; 30 great great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
