Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at Lucas Tabernacle Church of Christ Holiness, U.S.A, in Prentiss, for Miss Gwendolyn Bowens, 63, who died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, in Chicago, Illinois. Pastor Elder Rufus Fields officiated with interment following at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Silver Creek. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Miss Gwendolyn Bowens was born to Essie and the late Sammie Bowens Sr. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Antioch Missionary Church in Chicago, Illinois. Miss Bowens completed her education at Abraham Lincoln Center, where she also worked in the Vocational Center Workshop.

Gwendolyn is survived by Essie Bowens, two sisters, Demetrius Coleman and Barbara Brooks (Gerald) and many other relatives and friends.
