Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, at the Ruby K. Johnson Chapel in Prentiss, for Rev. Edgar Lee Jackson, 100, who passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at his residence.

Rev. Jessie James Holloway officiated with interment following in Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Prentiss. 

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Edgar Lee Jackson was born to the late Matt and Emma Jackson.

He was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church for 80 years. Rev. Jackson served in the United States Army, re-tired from the Jeff Davis Co-Op, and enjoyed farming, watching television, reading the Bible, and serving as an ordained minister.

Rev. Jackson is survived by: children, Willie E. Jackson (Marsha), Chicago, Illinois; Edna R. Davis, New Hebron; Classie R. Chaney (Michael), Chicago, Illinois; Jafus L. Jackson, Prentiss; 21 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 30 great, great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
