Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at Sweetwater C.M.E. Church in Bassfield, for Mrs. Lola Lee Bass, 87, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023, at her residence. Rev. Danny Willis officiated with interment following in Wheeler Cemetery in Bassfield. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lola Lee Bass was born to the late Reedus and Gussie McLeod. She was a member of Sweetwater C.M.E Church. Mrs. Bass was a retired registered nurse, served on the Board of Directors at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital, and loved solitaire cards, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Lola Lee Bass is survived by a daughter, Anease (Milton) McLeod Stubbs; three granddaughters, Latasha, Roshonda, Devonshae; one great-granddaughter, two great, great-granddaughters and many other relatives and friends.
