Funeral services were held Saturday, March 18, 2023, at China Lee M. B. Church in Silver Creek, for Mr. Kelen “Jearld” Daughtry, 56, who passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at his residence. Rev. Jerry Earl officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kelen “Jearld” Daughtry is the son of the late Fred and Evon Mae Haynes Stringer. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family.

He is survived by six step-children, Dale, Ray, Chester, Tasha, and Monique Hammond, all of Gulfport; Patrick McGee, Pueblo, Colorado; sisters, Alberta Brown, Brookhaven; Helen “Shearl” Daughtry, Jackson; brothers, March, Lyman, Lucius (Ora) Daughtry, Silver Creek; Rowdy (Gloria) Daughtry, Madison; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
