Funeral services were held Monday, April 24, 2023, at Sweetwater C.M.E. Church in Prentiss, for Mrs. Mary Helen Knight, 92, who passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023, in Washington, D.C. Rev. Homer G. Brown officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mary Helen Knight is the daughter of the late Winnie Carter. She worked in the department store industry until her retirement. She was a member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Samuel Taylor (Priscilla), Jackson; Varis Knight, and Debra Knight-Brown (Homer), of Washington, D.C.; Godson, Winston Jones; 10 grandchildren, a multiplicity of great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
