Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Prentiss, for Mrs. Bessie Mae Baylous, 66, who passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Rev. Ozell White offi-ciated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She is the daughter of the late Uther Lee and Mattie Mae Young. She was a mem-ber of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she participated in many auxiliaries.

Mrs. Baylous loved cooking, homemaking and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Donell Baylous of Prentiss; son, Donell Baylous Jr. of Prentiss; sister, Rosetta Young of Chicago, Illinois; two grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
