Third annual Remembrance Walk honors the victims of 911

Members of the Prentiss Fire Department and local volunteer fire firefighters, along with members of the community, took part in the third annual Remembrance Walk through the Town of Prentiss to remember the lives lost on Sept. 11, 22 years ago. Also remembered during the National Day of Remembrance were the many firefighters, emergency personnel and law enforcement officers that paid the ultimate sacrifice that day with courage and bravery to help their fellow man.
The group walked from the Ronald Wayne Jones Memorial Complex down Columbia Avenue to the Longleaf Trace Park.
“On behalf of the Prentiss Fire Department we would like to give a huge thank you to Mayor Charley Dumas and the Board of Aldermen with the Town of Prentiss for the opportunity to take part in a very special moment this morning as we remember the tragedy that occurred 22 years ago,” said Prentiss Assistant Fire Chief Michael Davis.
“Most importantly, we give credit to our Lord and Savior for allowing us to remember those who fell that day.”
