Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Pen Oak Baptist Church in Silver Creek, for Mrs. Helen Louise Funches, 96, who died Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lakes Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Rev. Robert Barnes officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Helen Funches was born to the late Johnny and Susanna Daggins in Silver Creek.  She was a member of Pen Oak Baptist Church.

She was married to the late M. L. Funches.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Hubert Daggins, Webb Daggins and Theodore Daggins; two sisters, Margie Smith and Gennieve Micheal; one daughter, Louise Parkman; three sons, John Funches, M. L. Funches and Robert Lee Funches.

She is survived by: three daughters, Susanne Funches and Darlene Thompson both of Chicago, Illinois; Gennieve Lindsey of Silver Creek; four sons, Theordore (Debra) Funches of Jackson; Lawrence (Dora) Funches of Brookhaven; George Funches of Columbia and Tony Funches of Silver Creek; 26 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
