A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Stephanie Dawn Skinner at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Bassfield with interment following in the St. James Cemetery.

Father Chinnappa Raj Mark officiated.

Miss Skinner, age 52, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Saulters Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.

The Rosary Service began Friday evening, Aug. 16, at 5 p.m. at St. Peter Parish Hall, with the wake beginning at 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friends also called Saturday morning, beginning at 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

Stephanie was carried to her final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers; they included Jacob Skinner, Jesse Skinner, Donavan Keen, Eddie Joe Jackson, Will Daley, Christopher Harrington, Brennan Sylvest and Blake Sylvest.  Honorary pallbearers included Brian Daley, Joe Daley, Pat Skinner and Norbert Skinner.

Stephanie was born on July 1, 1972, in Prentiss, to Noel B. and Christine Daley Skinner. Stephanie’s journey was one defined by resilience and warmth.

Despite facing physical challenges, she never let them dim the light in her eyes.

Her smile was one of hope, and her optimistic outlook on life inspired all who knew her.

Those had the privilege of knowing Stephanie were captivated by her unique blend of sass and wit, which brought laughter and joy to countless hearts.

Having graduated from Bassfield High School, Stephanie was an avid reader and enjoyed novels that transported her to different worlds.

Music was also a cherished escape for Stephanie, filling her days with melodies that spoke to her soul.

Furthermore, her fondness for all things “purple” added a splash of color to her world, reflecting her vibrant personality.

Family meant everything to Stephanie, and she found immense joy in the company of her nieces and nephews, as well as her great-nieces and nephews.

They were truly the “apple of her eye”, and she treasured every moment they spent with her.

The laughter and love shared with her family brought Stephanie immeasurable happiness, and she always found delight in joking and creating cherished memories with them.

Stephanie Dawn Skinner leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished moments that will be carried in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Stephanie is preceded in death by her parents, Noel B. and Christine Skinner; brother, Gerald Skinner;  paternal grandparents, Noel J. and Agnes Skinner; maternal grandparents, Chris and Ruth Daley and her great nephew, Eli Keen.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her sisters, Melissa Skinner, Martha “Scottie” Skinner, Donna Skinner and Pamela Skinner all of Bassfield and her brothers, Heath (Amanda) Skinner of Hattiesburg and Noel Skinner of Bassfield. Stephanie also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
