September is library card sign up month at both libraries in Jefferson Davis County.
During the month of September, children that visit the library and get a free library card or check out materials will receive a small prize.
Adults that get a new or replacement library card, update their contact information, or checkout library materials will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Visa gift card.
Whether you’re upgrading your skills at one of the free Basic Computer and Mobile Device courses, scouting for knowledge and information, or connecting with other heroic readers, a library card is your key to an arsenal of resources.
Mine the library’s stacks of books and DVDs for new stories and adventures.
Use your library card and the Libby app to fuel your mind with eBooks and audiobooks. Spark your creativity as a builder or programmer by tinkering at our Literacy and Technology Open House at the Dr. Frank L. Leggett Public Library in Bassfield Sept. 10, from 1 p.m. until 4:30 pm or Prentiss Public Library on Sept. 12, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 pm. These events are open to all ages.
Follow the libraries’ Facebook pages to stay informed about upcoming programs being hosted at one of the JDC libraries.
For more information, please call Dr. Frank L. Leggett Public Library at 601-943-5420 or Prentiss Public Library at 601-792-5845.
