In an effort to ensure the safety of county employees, the Jefferson Davis County Board of Supervisors have adopted new regulations regarding household garbage pick-up in the county.
All garbage must be placed beside the road or in a bin beside the road. All bags must be tied. Loose trash and weak bags will not be picked up and the county is not responsible for loose trash or torn bags.
No yard debris such as limbs, leaves or construction materials will be accepted.
No broken dishes, pots, pans or other sharp objects such as needles shall be placed in bags.
Bags must not weight over 30 pounds.
A rubbish site is available for county residents and is located at 755 East St. Stephens Road in Carson. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Garbage pick-up for District 1 is Wednesday and Thursday. District 2 and District 5 routes run Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. District 3 runs Tuesday and Wednesday and District 4 runs Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
