Funeral services for Mrs. Alene Henderson were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Tom Jackson officiating.
Interment followed in the Brady Cemetery.
Mrs. Henderson, age 92, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at her home in Prentiss.
Saulters Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
The family received friends Sunday afternoon, beginning at 1 p.m., until the hour of service at 3 p.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.
Mrs. Henderson was carried to her final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers. They included George Griffith, Mike McCain, Daniel Adams, Jason Griffith, Andrew Griffith and Logan Holden.
Alene Henderson was born in Covington County on Aug. 27, 1932, to William Van and Amanda Delancey Roberts.
A lifelong resident of Prentiss, Alene was a dedicated employee to the Edward Hymen Company in Prentiss and Buddy’s Jeans in New Hebron for many years.
In addition, she was an exceptional cook and enjoyed baking.
Her home was a place of comfort and joy, where laughter rang freely and memories were made.
Beyond her family, Alene shared a special bond with her beloved cat, Maggie, whom she cared for over 20 years.
Known as the life of the party, she was a huge fan of country music and loved to dance, filling the lives of those around her with humor and laughter.
Her friends affectionately nicknamed her “Trouble,” a testament to her quick wit and lightheartedness.
Mrs. Henderson was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Mrs. Henderson is preceded in death by her parents, Van and Amanda Roberts; her husband, H.T. “Dago” Henderson and a brother, Larue Roberts.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughters, Margaret Ann Reddoch (Trigger) of Bassfield, Janice Griffith (George) of Prentiss, Melissa McCain (Mike) of Sandy Hook and her son, Jerry Milling (Pamela) of Clinton.
The legacy of their Memaw and grandmother will also live on through her grandchildren, Garry Langley, Andrew Griffith, Jason Griffith, Lauren Holden, LeAnne Griffith, Karsen McCain, and 11 great-grandchildren.
