Historical Society meeting to tour Bassfield landmarks

- The Covington County Genealogical and Historical Society will tour the A. F. Carraway store in Bassfield March 15.
The Covington County Genealogical and Historical Society will be going to Bassfield for their March 15 meeting.
Anyone interested should meet at the Dr. Frank Leggett Public Library on 226A Gen Robert E. Blount Drive in Bassfield.
Participants will be given a talk on the history of Bassfield by Donna Hatton Porter.
Krissy King Welborn has organized the event.
Aubrey King will talk to us about the locations on our tour which includes the A. F. Carraway Store, an old drug store, view the Faler House from the outside, and an old cemetery.
The Carraway store is still open for business and it has some unique displays and items for sale.
John Adam Faler who owned the Faler Home was the son of Charley and Susan Coulter of Covington County’s Williamsburg.
The tour is free and begins at 10 a.m..
