Jefferson Davis County is full of talented athletes. Six of them have been chosen to play in all-star games in the next few weeks.
Seniors Josh Hayes, Gus Murry, Nathan Green, Marshall Pittman and Cooper Darnell will represent Prentiss Christian School in the MAIS All-Star game.
“These seniors have been with me for the past three years and they are a great group of young men that will represent our school and our community in a positive way,” said Prentiss Christian Head Football Coach Terrell Luckey.
Prentiss Christian advanced to the first round of MAIS football playoffs this year.
The MAIS All-Star game will be held Dec. 5 at 4 p.m. at Madison Ridgeland Academy.
“I hope everyone will make plans to come out and support these players in Madison,” said Luckey.
Jefferson Davis High School senior Tristan Chavis was selected to play in the Bernard Blackwell North/South All-Star game.
“Tristan is a great young man that has shown tremendous leadership and work ethic throughout this high school career,” said Jefferson Davis County High School Head Coach Lance Mancuso.
“We are extremely proud of him for this opportunity to play in the North/South All-Star game. He will be a great representative of our team, school and county and we all wish him the best of luck,” he said.
The game will be played at Milner Stadium at Gulfport High School at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 21
