The Whitesand Creek bridge on the Longleaf Trace on J. E. Johnson Road has been named the Charles Dumas Bridge.

A ceremony and reception were held June 5 following the Longleaf Trace monthly board meeting in Prentiss.

Dumas was presented with a resolution by Longleaf President Dale Lucas. Lucas also presented Dumas with a railroad spike, recovered from the original rails, in appreciation for 12 years of dedicated service to the Longleaf Trace.
