Former Bassfield Yellowjacket standouts and NFL players A.J. Moore, Cornell Armstrong and C. J. Moore are preparing for their third annual “Beat the Odds” Youth Football Camp.

Growing up in a small town with few resources and the odds stacked against them, these three Bassfield natives found a way to play and excel at the highest level of football. They are offering a free camp where kids will learn how to compete at a high level and learn different characteristics to beat those odds.

The camp will be held June 29, at Jefferson Davis County High School for ages 10-18.

He was drafted by the Miami in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Armstrong also played with the Houston Texans,  Atlanta Falcons and is now signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.

A. J. Moore signed with the New England Patriots, but made his NFL debut and went to the playoffs with the Houston Texans until eventually signing with the Tennessee Titans.

C. J. Moore signed with Detroit Lions in 2019 and is on their roster today.

The three classmates led the Yellowjackets to state championships in 2012 and 2013.
