The Jefferson Davis County American Legion Post 43 has been reactivated.
“We are also extremely proud to announce a relaxing of the service dates qualifying a veteran,” said JDC Post Commander Ray Kirkley.
There are now no restricting dates for any veterans who served on active duty since Dec. 7, 1941. Also, any guard or reserve Veteran should have served active times since WWII.
The American Legion is the largest veterans service organization. The Legion has been dedicated to its veterans, troops, national security, youth and patriotism since it was founded 100 years ago.
Each local post has its own unique identity, but are all connected by common core values.
Post 43 is looking forward to serving the veterans of Jefferson Davis County. If you would like to know more about becoming a member, please contact post commander Ray Kirkley at 601-466-1139 or post adjutant, Gail Robbins at 601-792-9336.
Meetings are the second Monday of the month at the Ronald W. Jones Memorial Police and Fire Complex in Prentiss.
