A letter to the citizens of Prentiss

To the Citizens of the Town of Prentiss:

On our first day in office as the new mayor and Board of Aldermen, we were made aware of some troubling financial news regarding our town. An investigation began that revealed significant problems. At the direction of our Chief of Police Richard Browning, the office of the Mississippi State Auditor was contacted, and the investigation was turned over to them.

We are actively participating in submitting all files, records, computers and other items requested by the State Auditor’s office. It is our goal to bring clarity and transparency to the situation and to rectify any and all discrepancies on behalf of the Town of Prentiss.

This will be a long and detailed process that will potentially take several months to complete while all irregularities are being examined and evaluated.

There are many questions that we do not have answers to but be assured we will make every endeavor to keep you as informed as we are allowed.

Please join us as we pray for our town. We all love it and desperately hope to see it flourish in the future.
