“Thank you to everyone that came out to see us today,” said owner Melanie Sorenson. We are so excited to be in Prentiss!” The dispensary also has tinctures (drops), bath dust and dog treats available.

Leaf River Extraction is the first and only hemp production, processing and CBD extraction company in Mississippi.

The company specializes in a Supercritical CO2 technology to extract CBD and other valuable cannabinoids from the hemp plant.

Leaf River Extraction gives the Mississippi farmer a one-stop solution to launch the new crop, process hemp biomass to extraction, and a sales solution to move their hemp oil and hemp commodities via distribution channels.

“We hope everyone will come visit our facility in Jefferson Davis County,” said Sorenson. “We offer education about the hemp plant and offer a full line of indoor gardening supplies.”

The grand opening and ribbon cutting at Leaf River Extraction will be June 18.

“Please come join us for food, drinks, door prizes and facility tours. We look forward to seeing everyone.”

Former NFL wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars Jimmy Smith will also be at the grand opening signing autographs. “Jimmy is a huge hemp supporter and a great ambassador for the whole hemp community.”

LRE is currently accepting applications for trimmers and packagers. “Right now we need five new employees,” said Sorenson. “That is just until we harvest our next run, then I foresee we will need additional employees.”
