The Mississippi Department of Education and the Mississippi Department of Human Services have begun releasing P-EBT cards to children eligible for 2022 P-EBT.
The cards are to be mailed between October 13 – 22 to children under the age of six and received SNAP benefits during the 2021-22 school year or summer of 2022.
Distribution of P-EBT benefits to PreK-12 students who were eligible for the National School Lunch Program during the 2021-22 school year will begin later in October.
The amount on the card will vary according to case for the SNAP kids 6 and under. For K-12, each child will receive $391.
“Any old cards with a remaining balance will be moved to the new P-EBT cards,” said JDC Director of Food Service Latrice Williams.
Students K-12 must be registered in the district at the end of the school year 2021-2022 to receive benefits under Jefferson Davis County Schools.
If students transferred or relocated to another school within the year, the student should be listed to receive benefits under the new relocated school district.
If you have questions about whether your child is eligible for benefits or if you need to request an address update for your P-EBT card, please call the P-EBT Customer Service Center at 1-833-316-2423 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
