The Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s  Office is currently investigation a murder that took place in the northern part of the county last week.

Antwon Myers, of Prentiss, was found deceased in the early morning hours of April 25 on the side of Dale Road in Jefferson Davis County.

Myers, 26, died of apparent gun shot wounds and was found by area oil well site workers.

According to officials, Myers had been dead approximately 8-10 hours when he was discovered. No vehicle was found on the scene or nearby.

Autopsy results are not complete at this time.

“We are aggressively working this case and are requesting assistance from anyone that knows anything regarding this matter,” said JDC Undersheriff T.C. Cooley.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is also assisting local officials in the investigation.
