Ballots set for June municipal elections; both mayors unopposed

Ballots for municipal elections for the Town of Prentiss and the Town of Bassfield have been set.
Qualifying packets were due last Friday at 5 p.m.
Candidates in Prentiss will run as Independent candidates and were required to obtain 15 signatures from registered voters inside the Prentiss city limits to qualify.
Tony Waits is running unopposed for Mayor of Prentiss.
Candidates for the Prentiss Board of Aldermen are Rhonda Bayles, Holley Kruger Cochran, Mike Curtis, Willard Davis, Rudolph (Rudy) McNease, Paige McRaney, Hal “Moochie” Speights, Randy Stamps and Rebecca (Becky) Williamson.

Bassfield Mayor Angie Speights Ladner is running unopposed.
Bassfield Board of Aldermen candidates are Lisa L. Blount, William Harold Daley, Erin Lee Dyess, William M. Hendry, Pam Puckett Johnson, Johnny Kendall Roberts and James Edgar Speck.

Absentee voting will begin April 19. Voter registration deadline is May 5.
